Extract from Dr Greggs report. Dated as above. ‘…Since this isn’t a unitary disorder and varies a lot from case to case it has been very hard to determine an exact diagnosis on Mathilda. She seems to be suffering from additional symptoms than one would expect from just the visual agnosia and prosopagnosia themselves. It is difficult to pin point when any neurological damage may have begun since initial damage can occur without developing any symptoms. Sudden onset prosopagnosia is usually acquired through extensive neurological damage, however, if and when this may have happened to Mathilda is at present unknown…’

I went to see Mathilda today. She still has no idea who I am. What actually happened to her and when it all started is still unclear. She keeps mentioning the ‘film’ she must finish.

Extract from Mathildas journal. Dated as above. ‘…It’s not like they don’t believe me – but it seems like they know something that I don’t. Ever since John disappeared in Indonesia my whole world has been turned upside-down. It’s all a bit of a blur really. I’m staying at this resort. I have made new friends here and they seem very interested in what’s been going on. They’re saying this is a good place for me to be, and I guess I agree. People come to visit me from time to time, I’m not sure why they come, they ask me questions but I’m not sure I know the answers. It’s a confusing time. All I can think about right now is finishing the film, even though I know that John is gone…’
